If you work at or have kids in Hamilton Southeastern Schools, here's the news. The school board voted 7-0 Wednesday night to approve a one-year contract with the teachers' association, one day after voters approved HSE's referendum. Eligible teachers get a total base salary increase of $1,828, and part of that depended on the referendum passing.
The replacement referendum passed with 58.33% of the vote in unofficial results. It allows a maximum rate of 36 cents per $100 of assessed value for eight years.
- Ratified: 97% of HSEA members voted yes
- Teachers represented: 1,249 bargaining unit members
- Master's degree: $4,000 base salary payment
- District insurance contribution: up nearly $2.5 million
- Classified staff and administrators: raise recommendations due at Nov. 11 board meeting
